Things have changed so much in the acting world in recent years -- and Tim Phillips' book reads like the must-have for right now! While there are the great old standards on auditioning, this new book strikes me as the one every actor should have to know how to prepare for, and do their ultimate best for, auditions in the real world today! From understanding the script in detail to dealing with the business -- this is the how-to that has the clues we all need. It's well thought out and clearly based on years of experience -- and organized so that a chapter is about a long cup of coffee's worth -- but priceless!

There'a huge difference between trained actors and professional actors - professional actors book jobs! Tim teaches that in order to be a professional actor, you must become very, very good at nailing your auditions! This book is an absolute must have. It has helped me clean up my on camera work - especially my close up, gave me a fool proof system to use for any and script and sides, and most importantly book more jobs! Commercially and theatrically, I'm working more thanks to Tim. Don't just read it, apply it to your work and every single audition. You WILL see the difference, feel the difference, enjoy acting even more and most importantly WORK MORE AS AN ACTOR!!!!!!!!! Woooo hoooo!
Really good useful and practical information about the audition process. I have a big audition tomorrow and this book has been a huge help. I will use the techniques I've learned here from here on out.
This is an acting class in a book. If you shoot video like I do, I got it on the recommendation of my buddy who took Tim's class. I went away understanding how to read a script and how to help talent deliver a great performance when I'm the chief cook and bottle washer on a shoot.
Really is fantastic, buy it, you will not regret it because it'll help you with not just voice over or acting but also make you a much better speaker if you do that sort of thing to generate clients.
